Polite consensus isn't alignment.

I've learned to be suspicious of teams that agree too quickly.
What often looks like agreement may actually be people not feeling safe enough to disagree. Or people waiting to see what the boss actually wants. Or people checking out because they don't feel heard anyway.
Real alignment looks messier.
I've watched teams that disagreed healthily in the room, then executed brilliantly. And I've watched teams that were polite in meetings, then worked at cross purposes afterwards because they weren't actually aligned.
If your team agrees too quickly, it might be worth asking: are they really aligned, or are they just managing me?
