Simply leadership

Back in the 90s I was taught that great leadership was about vision, ‘charisma’ and big strategic moves. I've learned it's much simpler than that.

What you tolerate, model, and repeat sends more signals than anything you say in an all-hands meeting. Full stop.
I've watched leaders with low to no charisma build trust and momentum because they were consistently kind, consistently clear, consistently reliable. And I've watched charismatic leaders lose their teams because they were all over the place – energising one day, dismissive the next.
Consistency doesn't mean being boring. It means your people can predict how you'll respond.
When a team knows what to expect from their leader, they can focus on the work instead of managing the uncertainty of "what's she or he going to be like today?"
