The Challenge

ACP was awarded the opportunity to design and deliver a management development programme for Crawley Borough Council that would develop the thinking and approach of 36 middle managers across a wide range of Council services.

The organisation wanted to commission a development programme that would create lasting change and that was cost effective. It was emphasised that the approach used should be practical and would provide the opportunity for participants to discuss and practise new skills using work based examples to reinforce their learning.

The Solution

We designed an intensive 6 month Leadership Development Programme, Leading Through Transformation, which focused on developing the required skills and behaviours to lead and manage teams and services through times of radical change.

The programme consisted of taking 3 cohorts of 12 managers through a blend of 4 classroom sessions facilitated and  a series of 3 facilitated Action Learning Sets. 

It encouraged managers to explore how they could:

challenge existing ways of working, creating a climate where continuous improvement and innovation are encouraged and nurtured
create a team culture where people are accountable for success and performance is actively managed
develop high performance teams through motivation and engagement

The Result
